UUCEF Releases FY2026 Proxy Voting Review

The UU Common Endowment Fund (UUCEF) has published its FY2026 Proxy Voting Review, linked below, providing a closer look at how the Fund exercised its responsibilities as an active shareholder during the year ended June 30, 2026. UUCEF voted at 100% of 720 eligible shareholder meetings, with 24% of votes cast differently from company management recommendations

Compared with FY2025, UUCEF showed somewhat greater independence in its voting: votes against management recommendations increased from approximately 21% to 24%, while votes differing from the standard recommendations of our proxy-voting adviser ISS increased from 13% to 15%. The issues coming before shareholders also continued to evolve, with artificial intelligence, data privacy and workforce impacts becoming more prominent alongside longstanding priorities such as climate change and human rights.

The review also includes examples of individual votes to show why the substance of each proposal matters. UUCEF supported proposals addressing issues such as climate impacts, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, workplace health and safety, political spending, data privacy and AI oversight, while opposing other proposals within some of the same broad categories. This more detailed reporting is part of the Stewardship Subcommittee’s work to strengthen transparency and oversight of UUCEF’s proxy voting and broader stewardship program.
